LARCOMB VINEYARD


We know 2011 has been a year of change for all of us.  This year we have a new and exciting venue opportunity – Larcomb Vineyard, one of the oldest vineyards in Canterbury.  Larcomb joins Pemberton, Cossars Wine Shed, French Farm, and the Valley of Peace, as our fabulous venues for events of all kinds.  Larcomb is located near Rolleston in the Selwyn District – and will be used for corporate functions, parties and weddings.

A NEW STYLE OF CATERING - Catering DEPT.


        


We also have a new style catering company called “Catering Dept.”  www.cateringdept.co.nz which was launched at a fabulous event at Larcomb in October. This is a more affordable, relaxed style of catering – with a different uniform to reflect the more relaxed style of service we can offer our clients. We will still maintain our usual high standards of service with our clients, but the approach to foodstyles and drinks service will be slightly more relaxed. We are very excited about this new brand, and it’s proving to be very popular with our clients! 



FAREWELL


We are also saying goodbye to one of our most familiar and best loved members of staff. Glenda Mitchell, who will be known by so many of you, is sadly departing White Tie Catering for a new and exciting opportunity in December. Abbi Middleton, our fabulous Koru Lounge On Site Manager at Christchurch airport will be taking over as Koru Team Performance Manager. Glenda has been such an amazingly strong and important presence in our office – not only as our expert at maintaining client relationships, but also because of her wide knowledge of all things such as event planning through to new food ideas. She has also taken on the incredibly important role of controlling our Koru Lounge activities, and done an amazing job. We are going to miss her terribly but we do wish her well for all her future endeavours and opportunities and we’re sure she will still be in contact with her White Tie family. We will, in time, be appointing a new HR & Payroll Coordinator in Christchurch. 



CASUAL EVENTS STAFF


We also just wanted to remind you of a few important points regarding our coming events and your involvement. It’s really helpful and important at this very busy time that if you’ve committed to work at an event, you stay committed to that event unless you have a really good reason to cancel (like mortal injury or the plague!). This is our busiest time of the year so your assistance is essential to the smooth running, sleek and stylish service we are famous for… If you have agreed to a shift, you are then rostered on, normal rules around completing a LEAVE APPLICATION FORM apply if for any reason you wish to change a shift. Please do not phone/text, we need to receive written application to stay on top of this. The LEAVE APPLICATION FORM is available from head office.Maybe it’s time to just remind you, too, of our continuing need to be well-groomed, punctual, and focussed when working at events – whether it be for White Tie or Catering Dept. – always remember you are the first encounter our clients have at a function arranged by us – so your fabulous smile, amazing grooming and quiet charming efficiency is of the utmost importance!
