“it was the best of times, it was the worst of times” – oh how true the words of Charles Dickens were when we all reflect on the tale of our very own city and the momentous events of 22 February and beyond. We send our love and greetings to all our clients and friends in the hope you are all continuing to prevail in the face of adversity – whether it be in your home or in business. We fully appreciate what a tough time some of you are experiencing. We too have faced major changes – we are very excited about our new location – 84 Gasson Street, Sydenham, between Moorhouse Avenue and Wordsworth Street. Do drop in any time for a chat – we would love to see you!
Our new commercial kitchen, when it’s completed, will be an amazing new base for our wonderful kitchen staff – they are continuing to offer their usual high standard fare from Pemberton but are looking forward to “coming home” so the White Tie family can be together once again, and it will be very soon!
We are all determined not to be defeated – life must go on – and the joys of weddings, parties and gatherings continue to be dreamed of and planned – and that’s where we come in! We have all been reminded, life is for celebrating.
WHITE TIE CARE PACKAGE...
Some of our clients and friends outside Christchurch have been asking us to drop off food parcels to friends who need a little TLC. We love the idea, who doesn’t appreciate someone else doing the cooking? So, we’ve put our heads together and come up with a range of perfect heat and eat White Tie style dinners that we can drop off anywhere in Christchurch. Contact georgina@whitetiecatering.co.nz for the menus and prices, make your pick and we’ll take care of the rest. Orders must be received by 5pm on a Tuesday to be delivered within the week.
DINING OUT
We had of course planned to revive our Winter Bistro series again this year but for reasons that are rather obvious, it’s a little challenging to find new, interesting and structurally sound venues. However, given the number of requests we’ve had to get the bistro up and running, it’s clear we’re all keen to have some dining out options. We hope in the next month to have a temporary restaurant up and running at Pemberton in Prebbleton. Open Thurs – Sat evenings the Pemberton bistro will continue our tradition of warm, comforting, contemporary bistro food with all wines by the glass. Following that, as soon as we have our new commercial kitchen completed, we will look to extending the bistro series. We will update you on opening night as soon as we confirm a date.
CORPORATE CLIENTS
For our corporate clients looking for some interesting options to entertain staff and clients this winter, we have put together a bistro package. For up to 100 guests, you can book a private bistro in full a la carte style. For more information on how to have your own company restaurant, contact georgina@whitetiecateirng.co.nz

FOR POSTERITY
On the day that Kate & Wills tied the knot, our own Nicola celebrated 5 years of marriage. It was the first White Tie family wedding held in our beautiful Catholic cathedral with a stunning reception in the Nuns Chapel. Nicola put it rather poignantly….”my five year marriage has outlasted the restaurant we got engaged in, the workroom where the dress was made, the venue of the pre-wedding dinner, the cathedral the ceremony was in and the venue where we held the reception.”
