Searching around town for pop-up bistro venues is a bit of a tall order at the moment so we’ve decided to set up in the ultimate pop-up venue, the inflatable Dome, and open our doors for five consecutive nights. It’s going to be more special than ever before, with the White Tie bistro food you’ve come to love, great wines by the glass and a venue inspiring Christchurch to get back on its social feet, so to speak.
We’re also calling in a few friends to lend a hand because just like you, we miss our favourite haunts around town. In particular, the familiar faces from The Bicycle Thief and Restaurant Schwass. So, they’ve agreed to come play with us at the Dome and we’ll be doing a bistro night inspired by both of these great Christchurch restaurants.
And just as food brings us together, The Court Theatre is our joie de vivre. So we’re going to have a special night with our Court friends in the spotlight to help raise profile and funds so they can bring the joy back to our city – show ponies that they are. All profits from the evening will support the rebuild of our beloved Court Theatre.
We’ve been in limbo just like you, we’ve moved, started rebuilding our kitchen, relocated our staff and eaten our way through aftershocks (it really is about comfort!). We’ve worked on trestles with spearmint blinds at the windows and pink doors (not very White Tie at all) and made it all work. So this is where we draw a line in the sand, the bistro is our soul food and an annual project we are passionate about delivering to our clients. This is us back on our feet and it feels good. See you all there.
